DIY: HAND-MADE FEATHER EARRINGS

This is a very easy DIY and I love earrings. When it comes to earrings, feathers and DIY I'm totally in!

Looking for something to do on my lazy Sunday I got this fantastic idea from Infarrantly Creative

Material:

  • Metal Wire
  • Glue
  • Sharp Scissors
  • Yarn
  • Earrings Hook

First you want to easily bend the wire to create the ring for the earring hook

Then you have to use the glue to stick the string. To fix it better, stick the end of the string 1/2 an inch down from the beginning of the ring and start to wrap the wire from the top, overlapping the first part of the string.

Before reaching the end of the wire, you want to stick the string properly with some glue. To fix it, wind 1/2 a inch backward and add some more glue.

Tie each piece onto the wrapped wire with a single knot. You want to make sure that each knot is close to the previous.  Repeat it until the wire is full, leaving the stem free.

After the "glue bath" brush the string with your finger and shape them as you like.
Let them dry on a plastic surface. Once the feathers are dried they will be hard enough to shape them again with scissors and to cut the excess yarn.

Easy isn't it?
You can use different yarn colors, starting with one color and finishing with another.

You can also paint the finished feather...
Just be creative!
